The orthodontics specialty practice of Dr. David Alpan, Aesthetic Orthodontics has been providing high-quality orthodontics and TMJ/TMD care for close to 12 years. Dr. David Alpan is a third generation doctor; members of his family have practiced health care for over 90 years. His father, Dr. Jack Alpan, had a practice in Los Angeles for more than 35 years. Beginning in 1919, Dr. Henry Alpan practiced in Europe.

At Aesthetic Orthodontics we offer the following services:
- The Damon System of self-ligating brackets allows for a more rapid treatment time, less time per visit, and fewer appointments. The system does not need palatal expanders or tooth removal, but it creates a very natural, wide smile and improves facial appearance. Damon Powerpoint.
- Lingual Braces (iBraces, Incognito, or Lingualcare) are custom-made braces that are affixed to the tongue-side of your teeth, and are also known as hidden braces, clear braces, or invisible braces.
- Invisalign is a system of removable, clear aligners that allow you straighten your teeth without conventional braces.
- Invisalign/Teen allows teens to get straighter teeth without highly visible braces.
- Inspire, Clarity, and Damon Clear are the only clear self-ligating braces available in the U.S. Dr. Alpan is the only L.A. orthodontist offering these products.
- Temporary Anchoring Device (TAD or Mini implant). This device reduces treatment time, assists in complex movements, and helps close anterior open bites – while avoiding surgery. Our practice has been working with the Damon system for more than six years and Dr. Alpan was one of the few doctors who offered the system before its public release. In addition, Dr. Alpan has educated over 10,000 dentists about providing Invisalign treatment and has lectured at more than ten universities. The latest development in orthodontic technology is the Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD). The TAD is a mini-implant worn for a short period and can reduce orthodontic treatment time. It can also close a gap between molars to avoid the additional costs of dental implants. The TAD can also temporarily replace missing teeth. Before TAD, surgery was the only method for treating anterior open bites or serious skeletal issues. Dr. Alpan is excited to be able to offer TAD as an alternative to dental implants and jaw surgery.
